AI: The Significance for Delta
On behalf of the labor union Delta, Menon Economics has prepared a report that sheds light on the extent to which, and how, generative artificial intelligence (AI) impacts Delta's members, as well as how Delta should prepare for a changing labor market.
The report provides a comprehensive overview of which professions and tasks are affected by AI and how this will change the workday and work environment for Delta's members. It is based on a literature review of over 40 Norwegian and international studies, combined with a statistical analysis of AI's impact on tasks within Delta's segment. Additionally, we present an analysis of the consequences for unemployment and wage development, as well as the barriers encountered in the transition process. This is achieved by answering a number of focused yet essential questions:
- Which professions or tasks are impacted by AI?
- Will AI lead to unemployment?
- How will AI affect the workday and work environment?
- What does AI mean for wage development?
- What barriers are encountered in the transition process?
- How should Delta respond to the AI wave?
